30ºS EXPLORERS CLUB
About the Club
THE ORIGIN
The name comes from the 30th Parallel South.
The 30ºS Explorers Club was born in Porto Alegre, a city located on the 30th Parallel South. The name carries this geographic origin, but — like the great exploration brands — its meaning goes beyond a coordinate. It became part of the club's identity.
The operational headquarters is based in Girona, Catalonia, a medieval city that served as a backdrop for international series and that concentrates, within a few hours' reach, some of the most extraordinary cultural routes in Europe.
The central idea is simple: travel should be more than visiting places. It should be an opportunity to understand cultures, hear stories, meet interesting people and see the world from a new perspective.
TRAVEL PHILOSOPHY
The goal is not to see more.
It's to understand better.
We don't travel to tick off places on a list.
Modern tourism often encourages people to collect destinations. We believe the opposite: one city deeply understood is worth more than ten visited superficially.
We don't travel to take photos and move on.
Each expedition has its own pace. Time to explore. Time to listen. Time to sit in a medieval square and realize that the world is far more complex and fascinating than it appears on a phone screen.
We travel to understand.
To discover. To explore. To hear stories. To create new ones. To return home as a different person from the one who departed.
THE FOUNDER
Ricardo Maluf Gardolinski
EXPEDITION CURATOR
Graduated in Social Communication from ESPM and with an MBA in Strategic Business Management, Ricardo built his career at the intersection of cultural exploration and content production.
Over six seasons and more than a decade, he hosted and produced the show Destino Incomum on Travel Box Brazil — documenting off-the-beaten-track destinations in over 65 countries across five continents.
From the production company to the TV show, from the show to the first expeditions for select groups, the 30ºS Explorers Club is the next step in this journey.
WHO IS A 30ºS MEMBER
We are not defined by age. We are defined by curiosity.
It could be a couple in their 30s. It could be a couple in their 70s. A group of friends. A solo traveler. What matters is not how old the person is — it's whether they would be happy spending two hours hearing the story of a medieval castle.
These are people who have traveled enough to know that seeing is not the same as understanding. Who prefer a long conversation around a table to rushing from monument to monument. Who come back from a trip wanting to read more about what they saw — not post about what they photographed.
